Generations was a month long film and theatre project for families of all ages and backgrounds. Over the duration of the course, participants created their own short films and community interviews and then wrote and performed an accompanying piece of theatre which was performed in the Latchmere Theatre in February 2009.
Participants spent an initial training period at Wandsworth CLC, developing their camera technique and understanding of the media and it’s possibilities. They went out into the community and spoke to their families to create community interviews with people of all ages. The quesions ranged from ’whom do you most admire? to ’what is your greatest fear’. Participants then returned to the CLC and learnt how to edit their films and began writing the accompanying theatre pieces, which were performed with full lighting, sound and a specially composed score from live musicians.
All participants were encouraged to take part in future Theatre 503 initiatives.
